5/27/2017 - 9/04/2017 100 Nights of Lights
New this summer, Ocean City debuts 100 Nights of Lights beginning Memorial Day weekend and running nightly through Labor Day from 9pm to 11pm. This new lighting attraction features high-powered searchlights that will accent the sky and surrounding area around N. Division Street and the Boardwalk.  Searchlights will move and sway, creating a dance of light to musical selections played through boardwalk speakers. The lights change into a variety of colors, bathing the surrounding beach scape and boardwalk in vibrant colors.

Tall Sailing Ship Tours aboard the Galeon Andulica

August 11-27 (subject to change) Tour the authentic wooden replica of a 17th Century Spanish Galleon during its visit from Sevilla, Spain.  Walk the main decks and gun deck, interact with the crew, and learn about the vital role Galleons played as part of Spain's West Indies Fleet in sea trade and pirate warfare over two centuries of service.  It's a rare opportunity to experience a vital piece of maritime history. 8/17/2017 - 8/19/2017 Capt. Steve Harman's Poor Girls Open
Capt. Steve Harman's Poor Girls Open

The Poor Girls Open is a ladies-only billfish release tournament benefiting breast cancer research.  There are also added entry levels for tuna and dolphin.  This tournament was started by Capt. Steve Harman as a way for local waitresses and bartenders to have an affordable and fun competition while raising money for a very important cause.  The tournament continues to grow with over 100 boats entering.  Participation is not limited only to anglers, as there are silent auctions, 50/50 tickets, T-shirts for sale, and other fun events helping to raise money for brease cancer research.  In the past three years alone, the Poor Girls Open has raised over $100,000 that was donated to the American Cancer Society.  For more information, visit www.bahiamarina.com.

9/03/2017 Labor Day Fireworks Show
Summer is going out with a BANG in Ocean City, as an upgraded fireworks show has been added to the season ending of the resort's popular Sundaes in the Park event. The grand finale, which will take place at Northside Park on Sunday, September 3, will also feature live music, activities for children, along with the 9 p.m. fireworks display. The popular Journey tribute band, Separate Ways, will take the Sundaes in the Park stage at 7 p.m. to kick off the evening, and will perform until the fireworks begin. Also adding to the excitement, Maryland Natural Resources “Scales & Tales” will participate in the event, with kid-friendly exhibits and educational displays. Inflatables will also be available for children’s enjoyment at a small fee. With panoramic views of the bay, spectators are encouraged to bring a picnic basket and chairs and enjoy ice cream sundaes (available to purchase as part of the Sundaes in the Park event series). Northside Park’s 58 acres include a children’s playground, fitness area, walking paths, paddle boat rentals, food and beverage concessions, soccer fields and softball fields. “Sundaes in the Park has grown to be one of the summer’s most celebrated events,” said Mayor Rick Meehan. “I can’t think of a better summer finale than families enjoying live music, a bayside sunset, and a patriotic fireworks show in Ocean City!”

Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk September 23, 2017 - Caroline Street and the Boardwalk Check-in/Registration Time:9:00am - Walk Begins: 10:00am Online registration closes at noon on September 22.  However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts.  Walk donations are accepted until December 31.  When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.  Thanks to walkers and donors like you, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.

OC Beach Ultimate Classic Frisbee Tournament - October 14-15, 2017

The OC Beach Classic is a two-day beach ultimate frisbee tournament in which teams of 10-15 players compete in 45-minute games. There are eight total rounds , and each team will play four games during pool play on Saturday and at least two games during bracket play on Sunday, culminating in a finals game to crown a champion.  The event is a Beach Ultimate Frisbee Tournament established under the offical BULA/USA ULTIMATE Rule Book 11th Edition.

OC Christmas Parade - Saturday, December 2, 2017

Tis the Season!  The 34th Annual Ocean City Christmas Parade marches along Coastal Hwy. on Saturday, December 2, 2017.  The holiday parade starts at 11am on Old Landing Rd. and marches northbound in the southbound lanes of Coastal Hwy. to the judges' stand at 120th St.  The event will feature more than 50 units, including high school bands, horses, antique cars, colorful holiday floats, and more.

Professional judges will review bands and other units in nine categories, with trophies being awarded inside the Carousel Hotel following the parade.  The awards presentation is part of a post-parade reception hosted by the Carousel Hotel, bringing additional family fun for participants and patrons alike.  Festivities at the hotel will begin immediately after the parade conclusion and sill include half-priced ice skating, a DJ playing continuous holiday music and fee photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.  In addition, complementary winter refreshments will be available.

To participate in the Ocean City Christmas Parade, which is coordinated by the Town of Ocean City, registrants should contact the Special Events Dept. at 410-250-0125.  There is no charge to participate.  For those wishing to view the parade, plenty of seating will be available along the west side of the half-mile parade route, including the Food Lion parking lot and judging area.

Spectators will not be permitted to watch the parade from the median area of Coastal Hwy.  Motorists are reminded that traffic pattern changes will begin approximately 8am and traffic congestion and delays should be expected.  Also, due to the high volume of pedestrian traffic, everyone is reminded to Walk Smart by using crosswalks and crossing with the traffic control signal.

New Year's Eve Celebration and Fireworks

The Town of Ocean City will be hosting a New Year's Eve Fireworks Show at Northside Park to celebrate the beginning of 2018 and the 25th Annual Winterfest of Lights.  The fireworks display, which will begin promptly at midnight, will be accompanied by live entertainment, warm hot chocolate, and the opportunity to ride through the Winterfest of Lights.

Hours for the Winterfest of Lights, which was recently named a prestigious Top 100 Event by American Bus Association and voted "Maryland's Finest Holiday Tradition" by Maryland Life Magazine, will be extended until midnight.  This family-friendly event will allow visitors to travel through the winter paradise of lights and then listen to music by a local DJ as they wait for the countdown to midnight.

With more than one million holiday lights sparkling throughout Northside Park, the Winterfest of Lights New Year's Eve Fireworks Show will be a great way to ring in the New Year.
